For those who have been reading our website throughout the year you may, or may not remember that The Essential Cyclist took part in the Ride of the Lions back in June.
We are well aware that there are many other organised rides out there and, as such, we couldn't possibly compare the Ride of the Lions to them. But, what we can say is it was a truly fantastic experience, one we would recommend to anybody looking to take part in a charity ride.
With that in mind it gives us great pleasure to announce the latest ride to come from the Ride of the Lions team, the Waterloo 200 Ride. To be held between June 18-20 2015 the ride will mark the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo.
Cycle back from the Wellington Museum at Waterloo to St James's Square, London, and on to the Wellington Barracks in conjunction with the New Waterloo Dispatch (NWD), who will be recreating the original message of victory carried by Major Percy 200 years previously.
Should you opt to join the ride you will be joined on the trip by 16 British & Irish Lions, as well as four representatives Walking With the Wounded, who are the main charity of choice for the Ride of the Lions. The identities of the Lions will be announced shortly but there will be some big names taking part.
